Goodwill of Southern Nevada Launches Upgraded Website at New URL

New dot-org domain underscores organization’s nonprofit status

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Apr. 18, 2022) – Goodwill of Southern Nevada (Goodwill®) is proud to unveil an upgraded website at a new URL, GoodwillVegas.org, that immediately communicates the organization’s status as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

“The prominence of our retail stores and donation centers sometimes obscures the fact that Goodwill does not operate for profit,” said Goodwill of Southern Nevada President and CEO Rick Neal. “Our new dot-org domain immediately communicates our nonprofit status, while a bolder, simpler design invites visitors to explore the many ways we serve our community.”

The Goodwill team, recognizing the need to compellingly present their donation operations, retail locations, and programs of service, realized they share a common theme: the value of work. “Goodwill was founded 120 years ago to save the waste in people and things,” said Bryan Stewart, vice president of marketing and communications. “Achieving that goal requires hard work, a commitment to good works, and services that measurably work to the benefit of our community.”

In addition to helpful information for donors and shoppers, the website features sections for programs of service offered to people seeking meaningful employment and the local employers who partner with Goodwill to hire them. “Last year alone, 4,687 Southern Nevadans advanced through our career services and train-to-hire employer partnerships,” said Neal. “Our new site makes it that much easier for job seekers and employers alike to determine how we can best support them, be it through a 90-day training program, two-week course, one-day workshops, or support services that develop skills or shepherd letters of intent into full-time employment. Our personalized service is just a click away.”

The new website also adds new functionality to make shopping Goodwill online a better experience for locals. “Our retail team invested in a platform that presorts listings on a newly embedded shopping page, making it easy for online shoppers to find items donated right here in Southern Nevada,” said Neal.

The team also redesigned the Community Impact section so visitors can fully grasp the many ways Goodwill benefits Southern Nevadans, our local economy, and our environment. “We hope that over time, the phrase, ‘I didn’t know Goodwill did that!’ becomes so uncommon that the coffee mugs we imprinted with those words become antiquated,” said Stewart.
